IN THE DISPLAY BUILDING AT THE TAYLOR COUNTY FAIR GROUNDS
The brainchild of some old hippies — Garageband Woodstock was originally an idea for a “reunion” of Abilene band members from the 1960’s. Little did they know, the idea caught on like wildfire. Wayland Huey, Charlie Taylor and Larry Wellhausen had no idea that over 500 hundred people would show up that first year, and every year since, the crowd has grown — to a sell out crowd last year for Garageband Woodstock VII.
Abilene has some truly great musicians, and this is your opportunity to see lots of them on stage, performing rock and roll hits from the 60’s and 70’s. This year, 7 bands will take the stage once again. The list includes members of the original The Fugitives, Chevelles, The Living End, The Furies, Full House, Fraid Knot, and Soul Free Revival.
